Alliance Life

The official organ of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (in the United States) is Alliance Life. A fairly complete digital run of Alliance Life and its predecessors from 1882 to 2006, is available at the C&MA (U.S.) Alliance Periodicals site.

To use this site, you'll need to create a MYCMA account. Once logged in, follow the "Alliance Magazine, 1882-2003" link in the menu.

Subject indexing for Alliance Life and its predecessors is available from 1882 to 1974; subject indexing for 1979- is only available via the Christian Periodical Index. However, keyword searches can be done for all issues, 1882-2003.

C&MA Missions Magazines

The Gospel in All Lands, Living Truths, and missionary periodicals from the C&MA's Indochina, India, and Indonesia fields are available on the C&MA (U.S.) Alliance Periodicals site, which also provides links to C&MA annual reports (1888-1916) and missionary atlases.

To use this site, you'll need to create a MYCMA account. Once logged in, follow the "Alliance Periodicals" link in the menu.

Articles on Alliance Themes

Articles on Alliance history, doctrines, and polity, such as Charles Nienkirchen's "'Deep Calleth unto Deep': Stillness in Early Alliance Spirituality" can be found on the Alliance Studies site.

The latest scholarly articles on the C&MA can usually be found in ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials Plus. Offsite access is restricted to Ambrose students and employees. If you're an alum of Ambrose or one of its founding schools, refer to this page for information on access to the ATLAS for Alumni database.
