Using the Library Catalogue

SAIL Search

Ambrose belongs to a local consortium of academic libraries (SAIL) that also includes the University of Calgary, St. Mary’s University, and Bow Valley College. Ambrose students and employees may use their ID cards to borrow from SAIL libraries.

To find resources available in the SAIL libraries, go to the library catalogue. When you start typing your topic or search term in the search bar, a drop-down menu will appear. Select the U of C, Bow Valley, St. Mary's, Ambrose option. Alternatively, use the Advanced Search area to select this option.

Here is an example of an item unavailable at the Ambrose library but available elsewhere:

Once you have located your desired resource on our catalogue, you have three options: you can go to the other institution yourself (in this case, the U of C, which is a 20-minute drive from Ambrose), where you can show your Ambrose ID to borrow books. You can request U of C books by signing into your Ambrose library account and following these steps in the catalogue. Or you can submit an Interlibrary Loan request for us to ask U of C to mail the book to us.
